Stephen Marley Conquers Jacksonville
Flanked by the soldiers of the "Jah Army", Stephen Marley's "The Root of Life Tour" invaded Jacksonville Beach, Florida & conquered the Freebird Live crowd with their roots reggae sound. Like a 4 star Rastafarian general, Marley commanded the packed house of reggae fans with an energetic & explosive mix of songs off his Grammy award winning album, "Mind Control", and his critically acclaimed newly released, "Revelation Part I: The Root of Life". And let's not forget, his emotional performances of a few timeless classics by his legendary father, Bob Marley.
The night began with DJ Gee Fus hyping up the crowd into a frenzied state as they awaited Stephen Marley & his band to take the stage. As Stephen Marley appeared, it was instantly obvious to anyone in attendance that this was going to be a night to remember. From the beginning to the end of the show, Marley engaged the crowd with infectious chants of "Rastafari" & encouraged everyone to join in the reggae celebration.
Stephen Marley was perfectly complimented by his extremely talented band consisting of Christpher Meredith on Bass, Ranoy Gordon on Guitar, Nicholas Laraque on Sax/Flute, Bowie McLaughlin on Keys, Squidly Cole on Drums, Llamar "Riff Raff" Brown on Keys, and supporting vocalists Erica Newell & Rochelle Bradshaw.
